Learning Corner

Did you know you can use your glossy accents to create vibrant, and sparkling accents. First you'll need glossy accents, ranger alcohol inks, paintbrush, transparency, and  some glitter(optional). Let's get started! First take out your transparency and squirt a good sized amount onto your transparency.

 

Next we're going to add some alcohol inks. As little or as much as you want. Then mix it together with your paintbrush. I chose a circular pattern, but you can do what ever brushstroke you want.

 

I mixed the yellow than repeated the process only this time I added orange, and continued mixing. Keep working this process until you get the colors blended the way you want.

 
 
 
When I've got the look I wanted I stop  and add a little chunky glitter ; )

 
Let this dry and then you can cut it out in what ever shape you want. This technique gives you this transparent pop of color and sparkle, and it's so much fun to make!

The Learning Corner

Want to add some PIZAZZ to your stamped cards! It's a simple and easy dea, and all you need are scissors, glue, and some pop dots! Instead of coloring your next stamped image, stamp it on patterned paper and cut it out. If you place a pop dot in the center of the paper piece, and glue down the edges it will give the piece the look of added dimension. EXAMPLE: (This view is looking straight down from the top of the card) See the pop dots here under the top of her dress, and the edges were glued down. It gives the look of the dress fullness.

 

 

 

Glitter on Transparency Sheets

Love those Stamp samples from Stacy's video? Then let's take a look on how to make them!  First you'll need Staz-On Black ink, a transparency sheet, Stamp of your choice, Glossy Accents (there are other adhesives you can use that work, but GA is what I had on hand), small paint brush, and lots of colorful glitter!

Start by stamping your image on your transparency using the Staz-Ons ink. (Note: It will slide around, so use slow even pressure while pushing down on the stamp) Let dry, then turn over

 
Next spread your glossy accents on a scrap piece of paper

 
Use your brush to apply to the BACK of the transparency. Only place adhesive where you want the color glitter your working with. For example : I would paint the center of the flower, and then apply yellow glitter. I would paint the petals when I'm getting ready to use the blue glitter. Sprinkle on glitter, shake off excess glitter.

 

 
 
Paint a new section every time you go to use a new glitter color. (If you do decide to use Glossy accents, I found that patting it a little after you've sprinkled the glitter really packs it into the product and you get maximum glitter coverage this way.) Continue painting and adding different glitters colors to where you want, and let dry for several hours.

 

Finished product

 

If you need a quick alternative you can do the same process as above, but substitute your adhesive and glitter for Stickles. It doesn't come out as vibrant as the glitter, but definitely a cute alternative!

 

 

 

The Learning Corner - Crocheted Lace Flower Embellishments

Hello and glad you stopped by the blog today. Please excuse the video quality here :) my day was crazy and I tried to record a quick tutorial for you because today is "Learning Corner Day," but alas, I had no helper and tried to record this with my Iphone and of course, it wouldn't focus, fell over, and then I tried to blindly use it as I held it with my stomach against the counter while making the flower! This is going down in the history books -- one night to try again.... so, with all that being said enjoy today's video and it is alright to laugh along with me on this one!
